Jason has crossed over from Premier Cricket Club Prahran after a healthy season with both bat and ball. A dynamic middle order bat and skilled bowler, he averaged 28 with the bat and 22 with the ball in his first season of cricket in Melbourne. On Saturday 20 February the Club launched its Hall of Fame with a dinner at the Brighton Town Hall attended by 170 at a special night in the history of the Club. The Mayor and Mayoress of Bayside and VSDCA Vice President joined past and current players, relatives of inductees and Club supporters in celebrating the feats of the inductees. Gary John HOWARD (1943-2015)

It is with great sadness that we advise of the passing of Gary Howard, a talented cricketer and one of the great characters of the Brighton Cricket Club during the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Gary began at Brighton as a 16 year-old in the summer of 1959–60 and, over the next 26 years, played 289 games (including 97 first eleven games) for the club. In this time he amassed over 5000 runs and 200 wickets, collected four premiership medals and was awarded the WJ Price Trophy for best player in the Sub-District Second Eleven competition in 1979–80.
