Brighton Cricket Club Hall of Fame

On Saturday 20 February the Club launched its Hall of Fame with a dinner at the Brighton Town Hall attended by 170 at a special night in the history of the Club. The Mayor and Mayoress of Bayside and VSDCA Vice President joined past and current players, relatives of inductees and Club supporters in celebrating the feats of the inductees.

An inaugural group of 25 past players and administrators were inducted into the Hall of Fame recognizing their significant contributions to the Brighton Cricket Club as 1st XI players or administrators or as both players and administrators. A video presentation and four minute recorded narration about each inductee was enjoyed before the inductees or relatives were presented with a framed Hall of Fame Certificate and citation summary of their contribution to the Club. We are still chasing relatives of Lew Carter, Gordon Robinson and Syd Wilson.

After all the inductees had been announced President Andrew Beck proposed a toast to the group that was enthusiastically supported by all present.

Hereafter there will only be a small number considered for induction each year. Hall of Fame members will be recognised in a special area of the clubrooms in due course.
