A FAMOUS OLD CLUB – A HISTORY OF THE BRIGHTON CRICKET CLUB

Dear BCC Supporter,

We will be writing to you in the next week or so about the publishing of the BCC History (A Famous Old Club- A History of the Brighton Cricket Club from 1842 to 2017 written by David King).

This is a project that has been ‘in train’ for over four years. The research and writing of the history has involved thousands of hours of work by former player David King and our History Sub-committee. The history will be a fascinating read and will appeal to cricketers, cricket fans, those interested in the history of our club and or the history of Brighton as these are closely intertwined.

We are now at the stage of finalising the text and layout to produce a 600 page book documenting the Club’s 175 year history complete with photographs, anecdotes, 180 biographies and team and player statistics with the book to go to print at the end of September and be available in early 2018.

Our focus is now on deciding how many copies we can sell. In order to do this we are inviting all our members, supporters, friends, local history and cricket buffs to pre-order and commit to buying a copy of the history now. Advance orders will enable us to meet publishing costs being incurred now relating to the editing, design and publishing of the history.
