The Record Breakers

Remarkably the partnership of 243 between Nick Thorburn and Tony Sheppard last Saturday was not a club record. The best stand for the 2nd wicket in the 4th XI is 288 set back in 1994-95. It was, however, the second highest partnership ever recorded in the 4th XI for any wicket (after that 288 partnership).

Furthermore, we are thrilled to announce that Nick can now claim the record of being the oldest Brighton player (at 58 years and 11 months) to ever make a century for Brighton. The previous record was set by Jimmy Thompson (at 57 years and 11 months) for the 2nd XI way back in the 1919-20 season.
