Brighton (C1) 170 defeated Brighton (C2) 84

(C1): Archie May 31* & 2/4 (MoM), Lachie McCluskey 29 & 1/4, Sam Landrigan 15, Max Linder 11 & 1/9, Oliver Robertson (vice captain & PoD) 8 & 2/12, Ben Edmonson (Captain) 4 overs, 3/5.

Innings well set up again by Archie, Lachie and Sam was followed up by our most accurate bowling performance so far from all bowlers. The wet conditions still produced a few no balls thanks to a slippery ball however, our good balls were very, very good. Strong bowling from Ben Edmonson (his best performance with the ball so far) Olshie, Archie, Lachie, Patrick and Sam restricted the C2 teams ability to play free shots.

(C2): Brendan Reddell 10* & 2/13, Jack Dunning 10, 1/11, 1 catch & 1 run out, Josh Sumner (Captain) 1/19.

Some good bowling from all players restricted the C1 team to its lowest run rate so far this season. We were a bit stiff with the bat in week 2 with very heavy conditions following a night of rain. Good shots which would have normally found the boundary were only rewarded with a single. We saw out our innings only losing our final wicket in the last over. Great batting from Brendan, Jack and Lachie McCurry.

The spirt in which the two C teams played the game was a credit to all boys. While all boys played hard, they were friendly to each other and congratulated good play. The conditions were against the C2 boys in week 2 but they dug in and played their best. With 13 overs to go, there were only 2 wickets in hand but all but saw out their time. Well done to both teams.

Brighton (D) v East Sandy (3)
Round 7: 9/61 to 6/96
George McDowell 8; Oliver Horigan 7 & 2/4; Max Scanlon (Captain) 7 & 1/3; Ethan Lyons 5 & 1/2

Round 8: 10/50 v 7/47
Tom Byrne (Captain) 11*; Hugh Moir 5 & 1/2; Henry Pearson 2/3; Max Scanlon, Charles McIntosh and George McIntosh all 1 wicket each.

Very tight bowling from the boys in week two followed up by some strong batting from Tom saw a turnaround of the result from week 1. Well done boys.
