Scores from South Road – Round 12
There was action aplenty at BBO over the weekend, with both the 1st and 2nd XI’s hosting Elsternwick CC due to their ground renovation.
On Saturday, a strong start with the bat from the visitors was sensationally pegged back by teenage duo Sam Hall-Kahan (7/40) and Duncan McKenzie (3/45), who combined to take all 10 Elsternwick wickets.
On Sunday, a consistent batting performance across the board helped the 2s to a very competitive total of 7/287cc off their 80 overs. Club coach Sam Kindlen hit a measured 59* whilst other strong innings were played by Andrew Martin (54), Navin Cooray (41) and Darcy Kennelly (41).
The 3rd XI had a good day at Donald McDonald Reserve, dismissing Elsternwick for 168. Tom Goldsmith was the chief destroyer with 3/9, before Lachie Walsh and James Styling got the run chase off to an ideal start, closing the days play at 0/50.
Elsternwick were not able to field a 4th XI team, which resulted in a victory to us via forfeit.
