The season is fast approaching! I urge you to register if your sons or daughters want to play cricket this season. We have had a lot of new enquiries for this season, so to avoid disappointment please register. Grading sessions run for 2 weeks starting on 30^th August I am aware Sunday 6th of September is Fathers Day – if you can make it that would be great.

This season we have entered our first ever all girls team. We have a Come & Try session at 11.00am on August 30 at the South Road Nets.

On each of the three grading mornings we will be offering BBQ breakfast and coffee.

Brighton Cricket Club has one of the largest junior programs in the south east region and pays high regard to the development of junior players with up to twelve junior teams. The age groups consist of Under 12’s, Under 12’s modified, Under 14 and Under 16 who all play in the South East Cricket Association competition.  Games are held on Friday nights for the U14 and U16 teams and Saturday mornings for U12′s.

The club also runs the Milo Have-A-Go program for 5 to 9 year old boys and girls of primary school age at Brighton Beach Oval We have great support from our senior players and parents of the children for the program which runs for 12 weeks – 6 weeks before Christmas and 6 weeks after the children go back to school in February.

The attraction of this program is that the children can join in at any stage as it does not involve structured teams.  There is no limit on the number of children who can participate and we have run the program very successfully over the last five years for approximately 65 children.

Our Third junior program is MILO T20 Blast is the new era of junior cricket – the real thing! It’s fast, fun, quick, active, energetic and dynamic – everything kids are looking for in entertainment.  It is small-sided games of modified cricket designed to develop social and physical skills while maximising participation for all kids in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.

MILO T20 Blast is aimed at boys and girls aged 8 – 12 years, of all abilities.  It is a game-based program designed to build on the skills learnt in the MILO in2CRICKET program, however is suitable for first-timers in this age group.

Junior home games are played on synthetic pitches at grounds in the Brighton area. This year our U16 teams will play on turf at Brighton Beach Oval.

Milo in2CRICKET caters for boys and girls aged 5-9, T20 Blast caters for boys and girls aged 8-12, Modifieds caters for boys and girls aged 8-10 and Under 12’s caters for boys and girls aged between 10-12 although players may move on to Club cricket once they reach 8 years of age. This program usually commences towards the end of October , please check www.bcc1842.com.au if you are an existing player or looking for a game we look forward to seeing you.

The club field’s junior teams in both Friday twilight and Saturday morning competitions. U12 teams play Saturday morning only and U14 and U16 teams play in Friday twilight competitions. Age eligibility cut-off is 1st of September. Players must be under the nominated age as of August 31st. Boys and girls between the ages of 8 – 15 on 1st September are eligible to be registered to play.

Cricket Australia’s online registration system will be used again to assist us on the administration of the registrations.

We are expecting a high participation rate in all junior grades and to avoid disappointment we urge you to register to confirm your place.

PLAYER ID -You will need to search for your or each of your child’s player ID on the mycricket website (please see the attached a document which highlights where this is and some further information) and create a login if you haven’t already. Each child will have their own login.
