After four years of writing and some 15 years of collecting data  David King’s book- A Famous Old Club- A history of the Brighton Cricket Club from 1842 to 2017 is finished. The 600 page book, complete with biographies of past and present players and officials and player statistics, is now being printed and will be available in the New Year.  It is much more than a chronology of players, premierships and statistics, as the history of the club is interwoven with the history of the Brighton and Bayside area and Australian life. This has been a massive effort by David King supported by our History Sub-committee and is outstanding reading.

The history is a major financial commitment  with a budget for the project of $36,900 and we are grateful for the generous support of a group of BCC benefactors, sponsors, a grant from the Bayside Council and to those who have pre-ordered a copy. We have to meet all of our expenses before we can take delivery of the book so we ask our supporters who have yet to pre-order their copies ($85 delivered) to do so now- you won’t be disappointed.
