2016-17 Captain Appointed: Ricky Damiano

The club is pleased to announce the appointment of Ricky Damiano as captain for the 2016-17 season. Ricky was a star junior at Brighton from U12’s and followed his brother John into the senior XI’s. A dynamic top order bat and skilled keeper, he progressed to the club’s 2nd XI as a 15 year old before following John to Premier club, Dandenong. Ricky was also a dominant schoolboy cricketer at Brighton Grammar, captaining their 2005 premiership side.

Ricky played 7 seasons at Dandenong, including a premiership in 2006-07, and a further 2 seasons at Frankston Peninsula. In recent times Ricky has spent 6 seasons at Sub District rivals Caulfield where he has established himself as one of the leading batsman in the competition making 3297 runs at just under 45.

The club is delighted that Ricky has elected to return to the club as captain for the upcoming season and are confident that with Chris Rushworth as coach and Ricky as captain we have the leaders in place to take the club forward in 2016-17. We welcome Ricky, his wife Emma and the Damiano family back to Brighton.
