BRIGHTON CRICKET CLUB SEEKS YOUR SUPPORT

Last season we established a Social Membership category for supporters to keep contact with and assist the Club financially. Over 50 supporters joined up and contributed over $11,000 to the Club. We are again inviting past players, friends and parents of our players both senior and junior to join as Social Members ($100 for the season) or make a donation to help the Club. Social members will receive the BCC Newsletter and we hope to see you at Past Players and Friends lunches during the season.

As mentioned last year the VCA is reducing and phasing out the grant to sub-district clubs. Subscriptions for our players are significant being $400 (seniors) and $230 (juniors) but there still remains a large cost shortfall to be met by Sponsorship, Social Membership/Donations and Fundraising. We therefore seek your financial support so that your Club can continue to grow and prosper and to ensure cricket is not priced out of the reach of players and their families.

In addition this year the Brighton Beach oval is being reconstructed with the installation of new drainage and playing surface and an extension to the cricket practice nets. While these improvements will greatly benefit the Club it means that this season our 1st XI and 2nd XI must play all their games away which will affect our revenue.

However there is still a lot happening at the Club:
We are fielding four senior teams on turf and 16 junior teams.
Under the guidance of David King the Club History is being prepared for release by the Club’s 175th anniversary. This is an interesting and exciting project.
A BCC Hall of Fame will be introduced at a function next season.
