Scores from South Road – Round 1 Day 2

The 1st XI weren’t able to get off to a winning start, going down to Ormond CC in a low scoring affair at BBO. Defending 98 was always going to be difficult, but Luke Shimmin (4/44) ensured we were always in the game, eventually, dismissing Ormond for 133. The previous record was set by Jimmy Thompson (at 57 years and 11 months) for the 2nd XI way back in the 1919-20...

Scores from South Road – Round 1 Day 1

The Season got off to an exciting start on Saturday with our 4 VSDCA teams battling against Ormond.   At BBO, the 1st XI lost wickets at consistent intervals on a tricky wicket for batting. Eventually bowled out for just 98 in 45 overs, Brenton Murphy and Sean Wilson provided the most resistance, each making 27. In reply Ormond are 4/72 with Alex Hewet taking 2/16 in a noteworthy debut performance.   Across at EE Gunn Reserve, the 2nd XI lost the toss and were asked to field. After a solid opening partnership, Duncan McKenzie got in on the act, taking the first of what would...
