Scores from South Road – Round 13

All 4 VSDCA XI’s went into the final round of action with mathematical chances of playing finals.   The 1st XI made the longest journey in Subbies Cricket, out to Macpherson Park to face Melton. Winning the toss and bowling, we struggled to make inroads as both Melton openers got off to a flying start. Michael Nyary and Luke Shimmin were the pick of the bowlers, but on a fast outfield the hosts posted a very competitive 4/268 off their allotted overs. Clean Sweep in front of big crowd at BBO!

The Club turned Pink on Saturday in support of NBCF. A terrific crowd upstairs at Brighton Beach Oval helped raise more than $5,000 for this fantastic cause. All 4 VSDCA XI’s were decked out in Pink to commemorate the occasion, and put on a show to boot! Strong wins for the 1stand 2nd XI’s were more than matched by rare outright victories for the 3rd and 4th XI. With one round of VSDCA action remaining, we are thrilled to say that all four XI’s still have the possibility of playing finals.
