JG Craig Trials 2018-19

Brighton Cricket Club JG Craig (formerly RM Hatch) Trials 2018-19

The JG Craig (formerly RM Hatch) Shield is run by the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association (VSDCA) and played on 1stXI grounds. It is the premier competition for u15 (must be u15 at 31^st August) cricketers in Victoria fitting in between the u14 and u16 State Championships in Cricket Victoria’s Pathway Program.

 

The VSDCA is made up of 28 clubs spread across metropolitan Melbourne, and is split into four groups North, East, West and South.  The competition is initially with 6 matches within your own group, and finals for those that qualify. Players must be available from the 8^th to the 27^th of January (see tournament fixture below). Brighton is of course in the South Group, along with Caulfield, Malvern, Elsternwick, Moorabbin, Ormond and Oakleigh.

 

In previous years we have been quite successful in winning back to back titles in 2010/11 and 2011/12 (Quarter finals or better in 6 of the last 8 years) and always putting out competitive teams while trying to develop every player. We look forward to another strong performance this year.

 

Initial trials for the Brighton Cricket Club JG Craig shield squad for season 2018-19 will commence in October on:

QF, SF and GF likely to be 22^nd ,24^th and 27^th respectively

All talented players in the area are encouraged to attend. The final squad will be chosen in early November and will then continue training on Sundays until the tournament in January.
