Donations to the BCC History Project Now Tax Deductible

Dear Supporters

DONATIONS TO THE BCC HISTORY PROJECT NOW TAX DEDUCTIBLE

As you will be aware David King (supported by the BCC History Committee) has been researching and writing the history of the Club with the aim of publishing the history in the 2017/2018 season to coincide with the Club’s 175th Anniversary.

David’s style is most appealing and the finished product of well over 600 pages will be a fascinating read for those interested in history or cricket generally and particularly those interested in the Brighton Cricket Club.

One of the major aims of the History committee has been to ensure the cost of the publication will not price it out of the reach of our supporters.  However the cost of editing, typesetting and printing of such a large publication are significant whatever the print run numbers are and so we have been exploring a range of options (including grants and subsidies) to help keep costs down.

We are delighted to report that very recently we have been able to establish an arrangement with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) whereby donations made to support our History Project via the ASF will be tax deductible to the donor. The ASF is a body established by the Australian Government for the purpose of raising money to support the development of sport in Australia.  The attached letter from the ASF confirms our registration.

This arrangement with the ASF will make donations to the Club to support our History Project more attractive and with 30 June looming the timing should appeal.

Please take the link below to the ASF site for the BCC History Project to make a tax deductible donation using your credit card. A receipt for your donation for tax purposes will be provided on line by the ASF. The url for this page is https://asf.org.au/project/brighton-cricket-club-history/.

If you have any questions about this arrangement please contact Peter Watmuff (email peter.watmuff@twfacc.com or mobile 0401049364) or Rick Thomas    (email rickshaw1@optusnet.com.au or mobile 0405581046)

The Brighton Cricket Club established in 1842 is one of the oldest cricket clubs in Australia. The History of the Club will be a great read.

Yours sincerely
