BCC Newsletter 2011/12 Version 11 – HATCH WIN!

The biggest news of last week was the fantastic victory of the RM Hatch side. It was the second year in a row the Tonners have managed to win the competition. To put it into perspective it has been rare over the years for the team to even make the finals! The side has been well coached by Nathan Steele and James Harrod over the last two years. This year they had some great assistance from David Harrod and Peter Collins. It was a thrilling match against Elesternwick with our boys chasing down Elsternwick’s score of 112, 8 wickets down. There are plenty of matches coming up in the next couple of weeks. The firsts will need to win most if not all of their games. The 2nds and 3rds just need to keep on winning, but should make the finals. The 4ths are in for a battle for the 6, sitting in 3rd, but only 4 points clear of 7ths spot.
And remember there is a make up one day game on 12 February, with the firsts playing at home versus Mt Waverley.
T20 Blast and Milo In2Cricket this week
These programs all get back up and running this week! The T20 Blast guys are at Ormond this week (EE Gunn Reserve, Ormond) and In-2-Cricket is at Beach Road Oval.
There is a great report on the website of the T20 Blast at the MCG! They had the rare honour of being invited to the “G” to be the pre-game entertainment for the Stars v Adelaide game. The report is at http://bcc1842.com.au/news/t20-blast-at-the-mcg.
Cocktail Party and Silent Auction Items
This is the big fundraiser for the year, and an important one for the club. You should have all received an email from your co-ordinators that each team is to come up with at least 3 silent auction items. This is a small request, but can add up to a lot. A strong club is only as strong as those that can contribute! Everybody knows somebody who can donate something. It can be a service or item or voucher!
It is also really important that we get a great showing at this event. Round up a few friends and come along to a great night.
Games this week
As you will note we have all teams playing schedules in the calendar on the front page of our website. Can team managers / captains please put in some small match reports in by clicking on the game and putting a post in. It will be great for all the players to see their names in reports!
Past Players and Friends Lunch
